Key Verse: "Then he said to the crowd, 'If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.'" -  Luke 9:23

  • Have you ever felt like your life is so messed up that you have blown your chance with God?  Explain.

  • Christ does not love us based on our performance, but what He did at the cross for us.  Have you ever struggled with feeling that you’re not doing enough for God?  Why do you feel that way?

  • In the Christian faith, the cross symbolizes everything we believe.  What does the cross of Christ mean to you?

  • Louie Giglio said religion is scary because it is what I do to measure up to God, but Christianity is the work that has already been done by Christ on the cross. Are you struggling with that difference now?  Why?

  • Read Luke 9:23.  Living the Christian life is hard to do.  Many times you will feel like you have failed.  Admitting it is a huge step to growing deeper into Christ.  What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Christ?

  • The Christian life is called that for a reason…only one man could live that life, but we have the opportunity to strive towards that end.  How will you change to live more like Christ?

  • When Christ says to follow Him…what does that mean to you?

  • Pray that God will make you a real, authentic follower of Jesus Christ.
